Privacy Policy

Step It Up (“StepItUp”), a Pillar Technology Group, LLC company, provides this “Privacy Policy” to inform users of StepItUp’s policies and procedures regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personally identifiable information received from users of StepItUp’s online software (collectively the “Site”).

1. Changes.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason; each version will apply to information collected while it was in place. StepItUp will notify users of any material changes to the Privacy Policy by posting the new Privacy Policy on the Site. StepItUp encourages users to review this Privacy Policy periodically.

2. Consent.

By accepting the Privacy Policy in registration or by visiting and using the Site, an user expressly consents to StepItUp’s collection, use, and disclosure of an user’s personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

3. Information Collection.

When an user registers with StepItUp and uses the Site, an user may provide information about the user (“Personal Information”). Depending on how the Site is used, such Personal Information that is provided may include: (a) an user’s name, address, telephone number, email address, age (to comply with legal requirements), user name, personal photograph or avatar, password, and other registration information; (b) an user’s interaction with the Site including posting comments and communications with other users; (c) information provided to StepItUp when an user contacts StepItUp for help; (d) information an user enter into StepItUp systems when using the Site; and (e) credit card information.

In addition, StepItUp collects certain information, which cannot be used to personally identify any user, and which may be provided to third parties. Such non-personal data ordinarily includes aggregate, summary, or other usage data, and may include, by way of example, statistics regarding total users, information regarding types of Internet browsers used by users, technical information about the device an user uses to access the Site, and Site usage patterns.

4. Use of Information.

StepItUp may use an user’s information (a) to deliver the Site and features desired by users, (b) to improve the Site, (c) to improve and facilitate in-bound marketing, (d) to respond to user inquiries, (e) to fulfill user requests for additional products or services, (f) detect and protect against error, fraud, and other criminal activity, (g) enforce end user license and similar agreements, and (h) to resolve any other issues related to usage of the Site. Notwithstanding the foregoing, StepItUp will never sell user Personal Information to any external third parties.

StepItUp will use user contact information to contact users from time to time to provide users with important information or required notices. StepItUp will disclose personally identifiable information if StepItUp reasonably believes StepItUp is required to do so by law, regulation, or other government authority or to protect StepItUp’s rights and property or the rights and property of the public. StepItUp may also cooperate with law enforcement agencies in any official investigation, and StepItUp may disclose personally identifiable information to the relevant agency in doing so.

5. Cookies.

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor's computer, and that the visitor's browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. StepItUp may use cookies to help identify and track visitors, their usage of the Site, and their website access preferences. Site visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using the Site, with the drawback that certain features of the Site may not function properly without the aid of cookies.

6. Advertising.

Advertisements that appear on the Site are delivered to users by StepItUp’s advertisers, if any. StepItUp may from time-to-time use advertising network providers to help present advertisements on the Site. Advertisers use cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies on browsers to help present offers, better target and measure the effectiveness of their advertisements by using data gathered on an anonymous basis over time, and across their network of web pages to determine the preference of their audiences. The use of cookies and web beacons by advertisers is subject to their own privacy policies.

7. Children.

Any user providing personal data is certifying that he/she is over the age of 13. Children under the age of 13 are not eligible to use the Site. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with personally identifiable information without their consent, he or she should contact StepItUp immediately. StepItUp will delete such information from StepItUp’s files.

8. Acquisition.

StepItUp reserves the right to transfer personal information in the event of a transfer of ownership, such as an acquisition by or merger with another company. If an acquiring company should plan to materially change this privacy policy, users will be notified.

9. Managing Personal Data.

In the event an user desires to discontinue using the Site and have an user’s information removed from StepItUp systems, please contact StepItUp.

10. Security.

StepItUp is very concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of personally identifiable information. StepItUp may require password protection and use physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect personal information. StepItUp limits access to personal information to employees and authorized parties who need to know that information in order to operate, develop, or improve StepItUp’s services. Please be aware that, although StepItUp endeavors to provide reasonable security for information in StepItUp’s possession and control, no security system can prevent against all potential security breaches, and StepItUp bears no liability for uses or disclosures of personal data or non-personal data arising in connection with the theft thereof. Likewise, users are responsible for safeguarding the confidentiality of passwords to the Site, and StepItUp bears no liability for access to, or use or disclosure of personal data if such access, use, or disclosure arises in connection with the theft or disclosure (whether intentional or negligent) of an user's password.
